It was a slow day at the office and this put a smile on my face
Today I meddled with illustrator…

Zahir named her, by the way. Oh he so witty~ >_<
I am slowly breathing life into my etsy shop.
Very slowly actually. I guess it will take some time before I can get back into the swing of things after not designing for so long. Today I made two simple personalized stationery sets.

I realise I keep going back to pinks and teal or robin’s egg blue. I need to get out of this habit and be more adventurous with colours.
The book I ordered from Amazon.com arrived today! It’s gorgeous. I can’t stop flipping through it every chance I get. I should be working

A Garden of Flowers: All 104 Engravings from the Hortus Floridus of 1614 (Dover Pictorial Archives) (Paperback) by Crispin van de Pass
My favourite flower is on the cover. Peony love!
The engravings are so intricate and delicate I am so inspired to create something today. Over the busy weekend, I had some time to myself and I created 6 Thank You flat cards. I printed these on cartridge paper because that was all I had. I think one of these days I have to drop by Art Friend and purhase cardstock.

Soph gave me contacts for a printer who can help me create letterpress prints of my designs. I hope it will fit my small budget. I was actually contemplating in buying a letterpress machine on ebay but that’s just crazy talk unless I win me some money.
oh these are bad pictures. I need to practise my photo-taking skills.
Recently, I re-activated my etsy shop and started uploading some printables. I joined etsy as a shopper a few years ago, then decided to sell some graphics on the side. I think I created less than 10 and sold 5. hah! It didn’t last very long, I was concentrating more on uploading my vectors on stock websites.
Everything took a backseat during my final year in school and when I started my first job.
Even though I switched from graphic design to arts adminstration 5 years ago, I still find myself going back to it time and time again. I love churning out illustrations and I can spend HOURS just playing with fonts. I bought myself a tablet with the intentions of creating digital illustrations because I can only do so much with my basic mouse. I have only created one completed work so far (please see previous post), I usually stop halfway because I am never happy with what I create. Zahir thinks I should stop being such a perfectionist about my art but I can’t help it. Years and years of adminstrative work just killed whatever creativity I had in me.
Now, I find myself going back to design and illustration again. This time I’m going to make sure it won’t be a one-off thing. My etsy shop will open and will stay open.

I know I promised to update this months ago. Well I shall attempt to resurrect this blog again. I haven’t logged on to wordpress in months but I can see that I have a steady stream of visitors from my Livejournal which died years ago…I wonder who’s been clickin through here…
I am at work now. It’s only 330pm. 4 more hours until I leave. I really can’t wait to go home and open my illustrator because my hands are itching to create something. I was bloghopping some art & design websites and I just feel so inspired to create something pretty. The illustration above is my most recent piece. Actually it’s more of a digital doodle. Zahir was at my place and I was showing him how amazing Corel Painter is, so I doodled a little something for him using my tablet. It took me 20mins or so? I guess that’s why it’s looking a little rough.
He loved it though and it will be the cover of his first EP
I haven’t created any new vectors lately. This is a quick one. Maybe after February, when all the stress is long gone, I might churn out more.
Recently I went on an online shopping spree for my cousin’s new baby girl, Arisya. I LOVE BABY STUFF! Everything looks adorable when they’re tiny methinks. haha. Anyway, the goods have arrived and I can’t wait to see my favourite baby girl decked out in these
Aren’t these ADORABLE? These are mary jane socks by Trumpette. I just had to get this. They had a pastel version, but these look so bright and happy, I had to choose this one.
Of course I must buy a cute little dress to go with these lovely pairs. I wanted to get something special, something you can’t buy off a rack and I found a dress on an etsy shop, rockerbaby.
Isn’t it lovely?
I’m gonna ask Hasanah to snap a picture of Arisya wearing this.

Finally, I got her a minky blanket from The Freckled Thread, embroided with her name. ( The picture on the left is a sample picture from the shop, I didn’t get her name wrong. haha. ) When it arrived I opened the package cos I was curious how a minky blanket felt like and it was so soft and gorgeous I felt like buying one for myself!
AHH IT’S FINALLY HERE! Okay so the Ngee Ann City outlet is not as big as the oulets I visited in Paris and NYC, it was roughly the size of Watsons at the Ngee Ann City basement. I could not find Urban Decay though. Maybe I did not look hard enough as it was CRAZY CROWDED. Everyone was at the Sephora make-up shelves, I didn’t even try to go through that section. I did glance at the prices. Not so pricey…I think it was slightly more expensive than L’Oreal.
I knew what I was looking for and I headed straight to Frederic Fekkai.
Now I don’t have to spend money on shipping plus, it’s cheaper than L’Oreal’s Kerastase range. Hope it works as good though. I tried the spray on hair gloss, it smells very clean, like fresh laundry, which is one of my favourite smells. Reminded me of Flaming Queen’s Tige de Bamboo. I love that candle so much! I feel like dropping by and buying it for my mom since our Mimosa is almost gone. Anyway back to my maiden trip to Sephora, I didn’t get to explore the store and look at all the wonderful things cos my mom wanted to go to Takashimaya to get shoes for herself. I’ll be back this weekend and imna go in there again with a basket in hand because tomorrow is payday!
