Minted.com wedding invitation challenge

When I found out that Minted.com was running a wedding invitation design challenge I was SO excited! I got started right away, submitted some designs I had which were in progress, and created a couple of new ones. There were so many really pretty ones. I especially love Worthwhile Ride by Unless Someone Like You.   Here are the ones I have submitted so far:

marshmallows, chocolate & creme brulee.

Everytime I’m on Etsy I will always find plenty of lovely things. It’s really hard to refrain from buying because some of these handmade goods are too pretty to resist. At this time last year I spent a chunk of my earnings online on Etsy and ebay, well because I was so frustrated with paypal screwing up my transactions whenever I tried to withdraw it to my bank account. I thought I might as well spend it online and if you scroll down to the previous posts, (it’s not really far back since this blog is only updated sporadically) I did plenty of click clackin on any online store that caught my eye and that accepts paypal. ha!

Okay back to my Etsy find. I chanced upon this store a few months ago actually. It’s probably one of those times I spent hours just looking at food porn. hee :)

Whimsy & Spice caught my eye because their product photos are soooo droolworthy. HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS! Just look at the huge chunks of goodness all stacked up, dunked in hot chocolate…you can almost taste the chocolate just looking at the screen. I’m sure they taste as good as they look…2000+ happy customers can’t go wrong!

I doubt it’s possible for them to ship it all the way here though :(

Also, I spent quite a while reading their blog, sweet fine day. It’s filled with lovely posts of their travels, their delicious pastries and their cute daughters. Please visit! It’ll bring a smile to your face.

The only place I know which sells marshmallows like the ones above is probably Indulgence at Katong Mall. I’m sure some atas bakeries and patissiers have them, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to afford fancy desserts.

I’m so-so about Indulgence actually. I wanted to try their French marshmallows but I didn’t really fancy the flavours available.  I was actually there to try their creme brulee. It looked good but I was quite dissappointed. At $6.90 each, it’s pretty pricey. I bought it anyway because I really had a craving. I don’t know about you but if I’m paying that amount of money for a tiny glass tumbler of creme brulee I gotta see black specks of vanilla beans. I didn’t and I wasn’t surprised it didnt taste as good  as I thought it would. It’s not terrible but it still didn’t beat the amazing creme brulee I had at Choupinette. Too bad it’s all the way at Bukit Timah. Although I must add that I wasn’t entirely disappointed with Indulgence  because their profiteroles were delicious! I think it was filled with dark chocolate and glazed with Valrhona chocolate. I bought a box of 4 for my family, I ended up eating 2! :)

On a side note, I ate chocolate ice cream from Scoopz when I was typing this post! hee :) I bought the family size tub, at $12.90, it’s a pretty good deal!

Classical Calligraphy

I am so in love with Burgues Script. I am extremely extremely tempted to purchase Compendium from Veer. Maybe I will reward myself with that font next month when I receive my zazzle royalties :)

I’m currently making a series of invitations, and this is the latest. The entire wedding stationery for this theme will be uploaded on Etsy soon!
